'Deca Sports' Preview (Wii) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on April 15, 2008 - 6:53am. | Exclusive Game Preview
When you first look at the ten games that are going to be included on Hudson's soon to be released Deca Sports, you have to wonder what the heck the developers were thinking. Nintendo's own Wii Sports had such popular events as baseball, tennis, golf, boxing, and bowling, but with Deca Sports you're looking at such under appreciated sports as badminton, archery, figure skating, and even curling. I love watching the sport during the Winter Olympics, but really…curling? Well I was wrong to ever question Hudson, because after getting to play a preview build of the game I'm now all-aboard the bandwagon for Deca Sports. read more | login or register to post comments

'Zen Fashion' Preview (PC) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on April 14, 2008 - 7:23am. | Exclusive Game Preview
I'm a sucker for Asian style. At this very moment, for instance, I've got a huge manga book sitting on my desk that I'm using to try and teach myself how to draw. Given my leanings towards everything Asian, I instantly jumped at the chance to spend some time with a preview build of Zen Fashion, a soon to be released casual game that bridges the majestic nature of the Oriental with some flower matching fun. If only I could get my own hairdo to give me the power to slow down time.

'Viva Pinata: Party Animals' Preview (Xbox 360) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on October 5, 2007 - 2:05pm. | Exclusive Game Preview
We loved the graphics and addicting gameplay of Viva Pinata, which transcended its cutesy and what many would've thought to be kid friendly graphics. Of course not everyone likes to raise animals and grow plants, because some people just like to party! For those Viva Pinata fans who just want to go crazy and party their butts off, get ready to go wild with Viva Pinata: Party Animals.

'Crash of the Titans' Preview (Xbox 360) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on September 28, 2007 - 2:39pm. | Exclusive Game Preview
You see, Crash of the Titans is a parody of Clash of the Titans, and well…okay, I'm all out of witty today trying to come up with a clever segue to transition from an opening paragraph to the heart and soul of the preview. Isn't it enough just to praise the fact that Crash is back in an honest to goodness platformer? With Crash of the Titans, the lovable orange bandicoot is back, and proves that if someone isn't picking on someone their own size, it's time to even the odds and fight back.

'TimeShift' Preview (Xbox 360) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on September 27, 2007 - 2:45pm. | Exclusive Game Preview
A long, long time ago on this very website, we once previewed TimeShift when it seemed as if the game was about to go gold and ship. Of course, if we're previewing the game again now, that means it slipped and fell back…way back. Usually when a game falls off the radar like that you write it off for good and never look back, but based on what we've seen they managed to take what was an average shooter and fixed it up to make it really something and stand apart from the crowd. So just how far has TimeShift came?

'Spider-Man: Friend or Foe' Preview (Xbox 360) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on September 21, 2007 - 1:13pm. | Game Preview
Regardless of what anyone says, Spider-Man is always at his best when he is working alone, with no other costumed do-gooders getting in the way to cramp his style. With that in mind, maybe that's why the developers went the route they chose and have teamed Spider-Man up with not other local heroes, but instead have him reluctantly pulling together with his archenemies to bring down an even greater threat once and for all. Can Spider-Man and his enemies learn to just get along?

'Guitar Hero 3' Preview (Xbox 360) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on August 24, 2007 - 12:29pm. | Exclusive Game Preview
There's something about Guitar Hero that just inspires awe in everyone watching. And then when it's your turn you step up to the plate, get handed the axe, and then you slip it over your neck. Your hands go to rest on the multi-colored buttons, and suddenly everything just feels right. You know you've just got a piece of stylish plastic in your hands, but when you're rocking and everyone's looking on, you really feel like you're on the stage being admired by millions. If the Guitar Hero 3 we saw is any indicator, guitar playing wannabes are just going to be rocking even harder rather shortly.

'Conan' Preview (PS3) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on August 22, 2007 - 12:42pm. | Exclusive Game Preview
Conan is a popular fellow right now, what with an on-going comic, his movie rights just getting bought by a new company, and of course there is the massive Age of Conan MMO coming out in 2008, which is going to hopefully influence and change the MMO world when it releases. However, Conan isn't just relegating himself to the realm of MMOs, as he also has an action-adventure game in the works, and if you're into some hacking and slashing ultra-violence, Conan looks like it will fulfill your needs nicely. By Crom, Conan is storming the land of videogames!

'Puzzle de Harvest Moon' Preview (DS) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on August 17, 2007 - 1:58pm. | Exclusive Game Preview
By now fans probably know what to expect from a Harvest Moon videogame. You've got your farmer who tries to revive an old farm, planting seeds, watering them, harvesting, selling them, and so on and so on. However, I bet you never expected to see Harvest Moon branch out into the realm of puzzle games. I know I certainly never did, but imagine my surprise when the game turned out to be completely unique and fun as well. Who knew farming and puzzles could be merged so well together?

'Kane & Lynch' Preview (Xbox 360) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on August 15, 2007 - 1:10pm. | Exclusive Game Preview
Kane & Lynch would make a great television show, what with its kooky duo, who you could just see having an amazing theme song explaining about how different and yet the same they are. However, the show would most certainly have to air on HBO, because the game is far removed from the buddy sitcoms, as the two titular characters actually despise each other, and besides, what would a song about an estranged mercenary and psycho really sound like anyways? Kane & Lynch is dark and violent, and it sure looks fun.

'Heavenly Sword' Preview (PS3) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on August 14, 2007 - 2:09pm. | Exclusive Game Preview
Women characters in games usually fall under two categories: 1) frail and dainty things whose only job is to get kidnapped or either being the healer of the bunch, or 2) the buxom bombshell who is nothing more than eye-candy, and who has more attention devoted to her jiggle factor than the depth of her character. For a change, it looks like women might just be getting their defining character in Heavenly Sword, a game where you not only play as a sexy woman, but one with some crazy sword skills as well, who could even put Kratos from God of War through some new paces.

'Cryostasis' Preview (PC) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on August 9, 2007 - 6:00pm. | Exclusive Game Preview
Whenever you go into E3, you always expect to see the gimme games, those that you've already heard of and have been anticipating greatly. Of course, then there are the games you hear a bit about, and end up being sleeper games that seem to come out of nowhere and thrill with possibility. And then there are those games you've never heard of before in your life, and when you finally see and experience the game, you wonder just why in the world that is. Enter Cryostasis, a first person shooter/horror hybrid, and one that definitely deserves more attention than it has gotten so far.

We got to see the game at E3 this year, and now here we are with all our impressions, and all the info we managed to extract from the developers. So is the game, dare we say it despite bad puns, marvelous?

E3 Preview: 'Condemned 2: Bloodshot' (Xbox 360) |
|||
Submitted by thankeeka on July 25, 2007 - 1:57pm. | Exclusive Game Preview
For those players who had enough guts to muster through to the ending of Condemned, you were probably left with questions and wanting to know more. Luckily, the game did well when it was released as an Xbox 360 launch title, and so it's getting a sequel, and things look to be getting a lot more physical and hand-on in the very near future. Who cares about busting a bullet in someone's head when you can take the beating right to their face and then finish it off with a dumpster toss. Also, you'll learn why the first rule of Hobo Fight Club is you don't talk about Hobo Fight Club (as for the second reason, see the first).
