    Here is some of what we know

    Here is some of what we know so far.

    The Da Vinci Code Game
    http://www.thedavincicodegame.com/

    SPOILERS!!!

    The first thing you see is: NORTH TO NORTH

    More on that clue later.

    On the opening page you will have your first clue.

    "NO HEAL A MIST" is an anagram for: THE MONA LISA

    Right under that is (ASIL ANOM EHT) which is THE MONA LISA backwards.

    These leads to the home page for the puzzle.

    NORTH TO NORTH clue: After it loads all of the way, you will be able to "turn" the compass so that the "N" lines up with the arrow that points "North."

    This will open a window that (for now?) states:

    "WEB EXPEDITION COMING SOON"

    In the "Enter Keyword or Phrase" there are 16 spaces.

    Note the "double lines" after the fifth space. More on this later.

    You can type the following:

    LEONARDO
    - Produces "VMLZX" in the first 5 spaces in "Your Journey Starts Here:"

    DA VINCI
    - Does the same as typing in: LEONARDO

    SION
    - Produces "C" in the 15th space.

    [Technical Note - Typing in "SION" does not work for me in Internet Explorer (IE) but does work for me in Mozilla Firefox.]

    Here are some notes on the various "areas" of the website. There might or might not be any meaning to these things.

    "Characters" page.
    - "The Vitruvian Man" in the background.

    "Locales" page.
    - Pentagram formed by 5 cities.

    "Gallery" page.
    - "The Last Supper" in the background.
    - "Pentagram rewards you the fifth." note.

    "Downloads" page.

    Here you can download "The Divine Font."

    This is a TrueType font and in Windows, you can install and use it as follows:

    - Download the "zip" (compressed) file named "DivineFont.zip"
    - Unzip the file, usually by "double clicking" on it
    - Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, then Fonts
    - Go to File, then Install New Font
    - Navigate to where you unzipped the font, select it, click on OK

    In order to use "The Divine Font" you will need to start up most any word or text processor, even Notepad or WordPad, and select the "The Divine Font" as the font to be used.

    Once set, you can type in letters, such as "VMLZX" that was produced in the step above, and you will get alternative text for it.

    In this case, "VMLZX" will produce: CRACK

    This is the first word in our "Your Journey Starts Here:" message. Note that this takes us up to the "double lines" on the entry area.

    A "C" in The Divine Font "translates" to a "D" in our message.

    Typing Leonardo gets you

    Typing Leonardo gets you past the first five challenges. If you want to do them one by one, then after the Mona Lisa anagram takes you to the fist page (and first letter) where you see a small slip of parchment thet tells you to go to the lobby, click on the lobby link. There you will see Langdon with a description. In the description, "Robert Langdon" is in red and is a link, click on it (second letter). This takes you to the characters page. The characters are numbered, click on them in order (third letter). This will send you to the locales page. You'll see a pentacle faintly in the background, trace it by using your mouse and the white dots at the tips of the pentacle (fourth letter). this should send you to the gallery, find the pentagram on the floor pic, the center is a click-able button (fifth letter). This should take you to the downloads page, from there do the download thingy.

    After that (and typing in sion), I am stuck. The North to North link is still a holding page, so maybe we are all stuck until something happens there.

    Anybody get further?

    I think the message may be "crack DaVinci code" but am not certain how to fill in the rest of the letters at this point.

    From another message board

    From another message board is this:

    "In an advertisement for the game which has appeared in numerous gaming magazines including Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine June issue) a phrase is clearly visible among the nonsense words written in the background. The phrase is LEGENDARY MAMA. Entering that phrase will reveal another letter in the final puzzle at the bottom."

    This give us an "E" in the ninth slot:

    VMLZX???E?????C?

    This translates (through The Divine Font) to:

    CRACK???H?????D?

    My favorite guess of "CRACK DA VINCI CODE" is now broken. As there are no more "double marks" in the rest of the phrase, maybe we are indeed looking for an 11 letter word?

    When typing in "LEONARDO" using the "divine font" I get: AHMLEMEM. Does this descramble?

    In the gallery there is a picture of 4 stain glass windows. I can make out "Nidaba", "Tiamat", & "Isis", but not the third from the left. Anybody have better eyes than me?

    The Sony page for the game has the numbers: 872983 clearly in sequence. Does anyone know if there is a significance? I googled a publisher ISBN number, but didn't get very far.

    I also found: 358 backwards as well as "Langdon". Does anyone know if there is a significance?

    There is more than one

    There is more than one combination of the font that will give you Da Vinci.

    D = 0 or F or C
    A = 1 or L
    V = 4 or P
    I = 5 or 8
    N = 6
    C = 7 or G or V or Z

    Okay - any significance to this:

    Using 0-9 & A-Z, the Divine Font will not create the letters F,G,P,S,W,X or Y or the numbers 0,1,4,5,6,7 or 8.

    It will generate B,H,J,L,N,O,Q,R,U,Z,2 & 3 only once.

    It generates A,I,K,M,T,V & 9 twice,

    D & E three times,

    and C four times.

    Can anyone see any patterns in this?

    bl corner br corner
    ul corner ur corner

    This seems to eliminate

    This seems to eliminate "CRACK SOPHIES CODE" as a possible solution since the letters S & P cannot be generated in Divine Font.

    bl corner br corner
    ul corner ur corner

    Perhaps Divine will generate

    Perhaps Divine will generate multiples of the same result so that no Divine letter appears more than once in the puzzle? C has resulted 3 times and one more unique Divine character will generate a C. I know this gets us no closer to actually getting letters placed on the puzzle screen, but w/o clues to proceed with, I guess the only challenge is to figure out the answer before it's 'solvable'.

    Just thought you all might want to see this. I saw it on Tv Guide Online:

    Hot off the almighty box-office performance of The Da Vinci Code, Sony has inked the film's scribe, Akiva Goldsman, to pen a screenplay based on author Dan Brown's first religious thriller, Angels & Demons. According to Variety, no deals are in place yet for either Tom Hanks (whose Professor Langdon character appears in both books) or director Ron Howard to return.

    More on the "Divine

    More on the "Divine Font"

    Leonardo Da Vinci can be spelled out using the following:
    N[qad]b6[1L]m[0fc]b [0fc][1L] [4p][58]6[7gzv][58]

    These are the only alphanumerics available in the font:

    UPDATE - Where we are now.

    These are the shortcut words and phrases to get the letters we know about so far.

I've tried to find others, but none that I have found and typed in has paid off yet. Perhaps that is what is meant by persistence? Just keep entering the combinations that are visible? I have also used the windows magnifying function (in "Accessories / Accessibility") to look even closer. Now? MY BRAIN HURTS!
