First up in the Pro Point Pack is the smaller stylus, which has the same shaft size and practically the same length of the original stylus that comes with the DS, though the Nyko version is a little longer – and ultimately bulkier at the end – because of the placement where the batteries go that light the neon blue LED light. One nice thing the stylus has over the original is the fact that the shaft has line indentions on it, which gives you a bit more grip and isn't as slippery as the original DS stylus can be during a heated moment of gaming. The blue LED light is pretty nice too, which switches on at the very top of the stylus by a tiny switch. The LED light seems a bit more style than substance, but if you needed to play your DS in a pitch-dark room for some reason, the stylus lighted up would work quite well. The biggest problem with the Nyko stylus is the extra bulk at the end, which rests in a bad position for our stylus gaming. With a little practice and maneuvering you could find a good holding position for the small stylus, but the bulk at the end often gets in the way more than anything else, making it our least favorite part of this pack. The stylus fits in the regular stylus slot of the DS, so there is no reason to fear it not merging well into the original position. The second stylus is much like the first in terms of styling, but instead of the usual short stub, this stylus is the size of a regular writing pen that you'd use to take notes or write with. The pen stylus feels great in our hands, features the same indented and clear plastic surface that resists the slippage we mentioned earlier, and will also light up for any nighttime or dark room playing (unlike the switch of the smaller stylus, the pen stylus' light is activated by twisting the black cap at the end). The pen is bulkier than the usual stylus, but it fits our bigger hands and works great. Also, since the pen stylus is longer than the smaller stylus, the bulk of the clip isn't a problem and won't get in your way. But what of the pen stylus' size…surely it can't fit into the DS stylus slot? In a clever bit of designing, though the stylus part itself won't fit into the DS' stylus slot, the black clip was designed specifically to mimic the size and shape of the stylus slot, so by slipping the clip into the slot the pen stylus easily fits into place behind the DS rather than inside it, and is held firmly against the back of the DS instead. The wrist strap fits into place and works with the DS well if you should happen not to have a wrist strap already, but it also features a stretchy cord that attaches to it and hangs out of the way, which has a clip on it that works in conjunction with Nyko's two styluses. At the end of both of Nyko's styluses are little clip loops, which you can use the clasp of the stretchy cord to attach to so that when you don't need the stylus right away but will shortly, you can easily drop it from your hand, letting the stylus be held by the cord, and then when you need it again you can easily grab the cord and stylus, and then get using the stylus again; this method of having the stylus easily in reach and nicely secured to your arm works considerably better than the standard approach of trying to quickly slide the stylus in and out of the hold only when you need it, or either trying to play with the stylus somehow strangely conformed and held in your grip, which is probably the reason many styluses have gone missing before. At a list price of $9.99, Nyko's Pro Point Pack is a great deal, not only giving you two different LED lighted styluses, but a great wrist strap and cord that works in conjunction with the styluses excellently. The normal sized stylus isn't the greatest – thanks in part to the bulk end – but you can get around it and find a position that works well for you, and meanwhile the larger stylus is great for long-term gaming without the hand cramps.
