Dave Perry Overseeing a...Dance MMO?

It seems that in the world of MMOs, almost every genre has been tackled. Role-playing games, first person shooters, car combat, and even sports have all been done so far. However, there still remains one genre of games that the MMO brand hasn't tackled yet, but looks as if it might soon. Ladies and gentlemen, get your groove ready, because it appears as if a MMO dancing game is coming your way.

There are enough fantasy MMOs released and in-development, but if the online marketplace really wants to expand, studios need to start tinkering with other genres. Shiny Entertainment founder Dave Perry has been working with the "new" Acclaim recently, and his latest effort involves him directing game development on DANCE!, a massively multiplayer online dancing game. Yeah, weird.

We don't know how the gameplay will exactly work, though assuming a riff off Konami's Dance Dance Revolution series is a safe bet. And instead of copping out with generic techno tracks, Acclaim seems to be promising licensed, popular and culturally relevant music for DANCE!, with the website's FAQ asking for user feedback on what songs to include down the line.
